Veneers are a revolutionary cosmetic dental solution, designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth. They are thin, custom-made shells crafted from tooth-colored materials, designed to cover the front surface of your teeth. Veneers are bonded to your teeth, instantly improving their shape, color, size, and overall appearance.
Veneers are the perfect solution for various dental issues, including:
Opting for veneers means choosing a minimally invasive way to makeover your smile. Unlike extensive dental procedures, veneers require minimal tooth alteration and can be completed in just a few visits. They offer a long-lasting, aesthetic solution, boosting your confidence with a natural-looking, radiant smile.
At Lakeside Smiles, we offer a variety of veneer types to suit your unique needs and preferences:
Durability and Aesthetics: Porcelain veneers are known for their durability and natural appearance. They resist stains better than other materials and mimic the light-reflecting properties of natural teeth.
Cost-Effective Solution: Composite veneers are a budget-friendly alternative. They are made from a tooth-colored resin applied directly to the teeth, offering a quicker and reversible option.
Ultra-Thin and Reversible: Lumineers are a brand of veneers known for being ultra-thin and highly translucent, resembling natural tooth enamel. They require minimal tooth preparation, making them a reversible option.
Customization and Speed: ProVeneer offers a quick and customized solution. These veneers are applied in a single visit, allowing for immediate results with a natural appearance.
Non-Invasive Approach: DuraThin veneers are known for their non-invasive approach. They are thin and require no or minimal tooth reduction, preserving your natural tooth structure.
High Quality and Precision: DaVinci veneers are celebrated for their high quality and precision. They offer a perfect fit and outstanding aesthetics, used often in smile makeovers for a dramatic transformation.
Strength and Brilliance: MAC veneers are made from pressed ceramics, known for their brilliance. They offer a durable and stain-resistant option with exceptional aesthetic appeal.
All-Ceramic Innovation: EMAX veneers are all-ceramic veneers known for their strength and durability. They provide a lifelike appearance with their translucency and are ideal for front teeth restoration.
Natural Look and Feel: Empress veneers are crafted from pressed glass ceramic, offering a natural look and feel. They are highly aesthetic and are perfect for creating a beautiful smile.
After growing up in a small town in West Texas, Dr. Sims is finding Hendersonville a natural fit. His parents still own and operate the cattle ranch and farm he worked on as a kid, and he occasionally returns to help out when he can. He knew he wanted to be a dentist at 17 years old and to achieve that goal, he attended college at West Texas A&M and then graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2005.
Dr. Sims spent the first 12 years of his career both practicing dentistry in Hendersonville, TN, and teaching for the world's largest dental services provider. After spending several years as Program Director for Dentist Education, he decided to slow down on traveling and focus on practicing dentistry and raising his two kids.
"I have always enjoyed giving back to the profession through teaching, and I hope to return to it someday." Dr Sims took over as the owner of Hillcrest Dental in 2018. "I am thankful I get to carry on the legacy started here in 1983 by Dr. Garrett."
During his spare time, he enjoys playing sports with his kids, competing in triathlons, and participating in CrossFit classes.
Yes, veneers are considered a permanent dental treatment because a portion of the original tooth enamel is removed to fit the veneer. Once this enamel is removed, it cannot be replaced, and the tooth will always need to be covered with a veneer or crown.
Porcelain veneers typically last between 10 to 15 years, and composite veneers last about 5 to 7 years, depending on the care and maintenance they receive. Good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups can help extend their lifespan.
Veneers do not require special care. You should continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash. Although veneers are stain-resistant, it's still a good idea to avoid excessive coffee, tea, or wine, which can cause staining over time.
Veneers are designed to look like your natural teeth. They are custom-made to the contour of your teeth and will match the color of your surrounding teeth. A skilled dentist ensures that they look natural and fit comfortably.
The process of getting veneers typically involves little to no discomfort. Local anesthesia can be used during the procedure to minimize any pain. After the procedure, there might be some sensitivity to temperature, which usually dissipates within a few days.
Once veneers are applied, they cannot be removed as part of the tooth enamel has been removed to accommodate them. However, they can be replaced if they are damaged or worn out.
The cost of veneers varies depending on several factors, including the type of veneer, the number of veneers needed, and the geographical location of the dental practice. It's best to discuss the cost with your dentist, who can provide a more accurate estimate based on your specific case.
Veneers are generally considered a cosmetic procedure and are not covered by dental insurance. However, it's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider for specific details about your coverage. We can also help you with your payment and financing options.
